Darth Vader Yule Log Five Hours
Watch the Darth Vader Yule Log!
The holidays are a time for friends and family, cherishing those with us and remembering those who’ve passed — a sentiment perfectly captured in a new “yule log” video of Darth Vader’s funeral pyre on a five-hour loop.
Intrepid YouTube user BenjaminApple uploaded the altered Return of the Jedi clip in time for both Star Wars:The Force Awakens and holiday parties everywhere. For good measure, the clip boasts more seasonally appropriate audio of crackling firewood and the distant chirping of crickets.
And while the only heat being produced is that coming from the computer screen, at least there’s no need to air out the rank stench of melting Sith-alchemized metal.
The looped Vader funeral pyre is another clever spin on the peculiar phenomenon of posting lengthy yule log videos that mostly feature nothing but boring, burning wood. Nick Offerman and Scotch distillery Lagavulin recently teamed up for another such take, posting a clip in which the stoic Parks and Recreation star sits silently in a leather chair by a roaring fire, sipping whiskey for 45 minutes.
