As the music world mourns the death of Scott Weiland, we can look back at his final show thanks to some fan-shot video from his performance at Toronto’s Adelaide Hall on Tuesday (Dec. 1).

In the video above, you’ll see Weiland and his band The Wildabouts revisiting his Stone Temple Pilots hit, “Vasoline”  As you can see, Weiland still commanded the stage with swagger and charisma during what would prove to be his final show. The singer passed in his sleep aboard his tour bus prior to Thursday night’s (Dec. 3) show in Minnesota.

Though Weiland had been touring and recording with The Wildabouts in the years since his tumultuous split from Stone Temple Pilots, he had left the door open in a recent interview about the possibility of him returning to the band where he initially made his name.

Speaking with Louisville’s 93.1 The Fox Rocks shortly after it was announced that Stone Temple Pilots and vocalist Chester Bennington had agreed not to continue their partnership, Weiland stated, “I think it would be beneficial to wait a little while, give it a little bit of time to let some air kind of breathe between all of us before [a reunion] happens. A year, something like that.”

Though Weiland seemed open to a return, the remaining members of Stone Temple Pilots had stated that they were exploring their options with other vocalists before naming a permanent replacement for Bennington.

Over the years, Weiland had also expressed interest in returning to play with Velvet Revolver as well. The group did reunite with Weiland for a one-off performance in 2012 at a benefit show, but never pursued a full fledged reunion with the singer.
